2022 VW Atlas Cross Sport

Crossover SUVs are known for blending comfort and functionality, and the 2022 VW Atlas Cross Sport is no exception. This sporty and spacious crossover is the perfect all-purpose vehicle.

The Cross Sport, introduced in 2020, is the two-row version of the Volkswagen Atlas. Despite its smaller size, it offers the same towing capacity as its larger counterpart.

VW has discontinued the entry-level S trim in 2022 and now offers five trim levels for the Atlas Cross Sport:

  • SE
  • SE with Technology
  • SEL
  • SEL R-Line Black
  • SEL Premium R-Line

2022 Changes to the Atlas Cross Sport

Entry-Level SE Trim

With the discontinuation of the S trim, the Atlas Cross Sport SE is now the entry-level model, offering more features than the S for only a modest increase in price. Features of this base model include:

  • LED headlights
  • Heated front seats
  • 6.5-inch touchscreen
  • Smartphone compatibility
  • Power liftgate
  • 18-inch alloy wheels

New Options Available

Adding the Technology package upgrades the touchscreen to 8 inches and adds convenient features like dual-zone climate control and hands-free liftgate controls.

All-wheel drive is now standard for all SEL trims. Models with the V6 engine come equipped with a trailer hitch, so you can put your Atlas Cross Sport to work as soon as you drive it off the lot.

Cargo Space

When it comes to cargo capacity, the Atlas Cross Sport outshines its competitors. With the second row of seats folded down, you’ll have a generous 77 cubic feet of cargo space. With the seats upright, the Atlas Cross Sport offers 40 cubic feet of cargo space, which is plenty of room to carry all the necessities for a family road trip or a weekend getaway with friends.

Towing Capabilities

Although it’s smaller than the Atlas, the Cross Sport is ready for big adventures. With the V6 engine and trailer hitch, the VW Atlas Cross Sport can tow up to 5000 lbs. With towing capabilities and all-wheel drive, this car can take you anywhere.

Luxury Features

The SEL Premium R-Line trim features some luxurious upgrades for you and your passengers. Highlights include heated seats in both rows and a premium Fender audio system. The Premium trim also adds visual appeal with two-tone 21-inch wheels and leather seats.

Safety Technology

The SEL trims offer advanced safety technology, including:

  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Traffic sign recognition
  • Lane-keeping assist
  • High beam control

The Premium model includes even more features. Park assist can help you avoid a fender bender when maneuvering into a tight space. The overhead view camera system monitors your surroundings to help prevent collisions. Combined with safe driving habits, the Cross Sport’s technology can give you extra peace of mind when you’re on the road.
